Tuniq 120

Today I decided to install the Tuniq 120 on my Xeon 3060. Until yesterday, I didn't dare to do this due to having all my work and apps residing my main rig (in the sig). After a backup and some notes, my system was helpelessly naked and I had the Tuniq 120 in my hand to sit on a shiny new CPU. 😀

Other than that I replaced the stock fan with a Thermaltake fan (2000RPM), there was no inordinacy in my build. Case is the new Antec 900 which is pretty decent in many way, although I hate the fact that there is no way to hide left-over PSU cables. :frown: It's somewhat chilly outside today but it's not discomforting to leave room windows open. OK, so without taking any more of your time, check this out.

Needless to say, I'm beyond impressed.

No, the Tuniq was purchased either late last year or early this year and was sitting on my Opteron rig. It's a shame they discontinued such a great HSF and no other companies can't seem to make a copy-cat.

They're sold out. No one has been able to find them for a while now. Production is still halted far as anyone knows.

firstly get an updated CPU-Z so your voltages show properly. Second use SmallFFT to produce maximum heat and see what that does.

word has it the Tuniq was so popular at that price point they were discontinued on purpose.
they will return just NOT at that price point.....lol

Who knows, but if they bring it back at a higher price I wouldn't doubt that people would pay the price no matter what it was

i got mine about 2 or 3 weeks ago from someone over at XS.org.

however, i paid $72 and it was well worth it!

edit: lopri, you need to do small fft or try TAT to produce the most amount of heat.

rdiculous......hmmm.....this dude just proved my point!! lol

I also had some undervolting fun. The lowest my board allows is 1.225VCore and I started overclocking. At 2.70GHz, idle temps are around 22~24C and load temps are 30~31C. Room temp = 15C

what's more ridiculous is I also have watercooling that is currently out of commission (which will be put back into commission this weekend after I receive my Swiftech Storm Rev 2).

🙂

you get what you pay for. 🙂
