As the topic header says, I have a P5N32-E SLI with an E6600 cooled by a Tuniq 120.
I've come home a couple of times and this system wouldn't POST. I would tear everything apart, going so far as to take the MOBO out of the case. Then voila - it would work. I've had to do this many times. I assumed this was some sort of issue that related to the mounting of the board in the case - not so. What it was: the board would not POST when it was mountd vertically.
So - to fix this, I have had to support the tip of the cooler (when the board is in the case) to resist the load and moment applied to the LGA 775 socket. It's a fine cooler - does an excellent job and is pretty darn quiet. But, it's also been a pain in the butt.
Am I missing something - is this cooler not meant to be used when the board is vertical? It seems like it weighs quite a bit, and pretty much bends the PCB. I've experimented with all sorts of thumbscrew pressure - nothing has worked until I provided this auxiliary support.
Has anyone else had similar issues?
