Tuner works in WMC, but not in other Software

I have the Avermedia M780 Combo PCI-E Tuner.

I have the Comcast Basic cable which is directly hooked to the card's input and no set top box in between

I can use the tuner in Windows Media Center in Vista x64 perfectly and watch the channels with good quality .

But I can't get the tuner to work in Aver Media center. The software does not scan for any channels on cable setting.

What other free soft can i try ?

can i record in wmv or divx or other codecs ?

also the live tv takes up space on OS partition , i wanted to change that to a bigger partition .
 
Did you contact their support? I found their software to be extremely buggy. There probably isn't much more you can do other than replace the card or use a different program. I think BeyondTV can do what you want.
