I would imagine in order to TUNE a guitar into a uke, you would just wind the strings really tight and raise the whole thing two or so octaves.

In order to TURN a guitar into a uke, you would take a saw and remove about 18 inches of the neck, trim down the body say, by at least 8 inches all around.

Yeah, that should work. Let us know how your fair, and be sure to post :camera:s.

LOL,, ,nah,, i just looked at it really hard and thought about it. If I clamp the fret board at the 5th fret, the last 4 strings of the guitar becomes the strings of a GCAE tuned Ukelele.
I'm not sure if it has the same amount of frets but it looks right.

I found it neat, probably been done.

The reason I wanted to do this is because I heard Jake Shimabukuro's "While my guitar gently weeps rendition. IF anyone needs the Tabs PM me, or dl the torrent". THAT GUY IS GOD of Ukelele....

I think a standard ukelele is tuned to G. There are baratone ukes though with a different tuning.

Anyway, you can play that song on an acoustic using "banjo rolls" and get a similar effect as the video you are speaking of.
