okay, my system consists of
Winblows XP pro sp1 (I have all updates)
ak32l shuttle MB
xp1600+ (non oced right now, trouble shooting as you'll see)
radeon 8500le (flashed to 275/275, works fine, maybe...)
SB live
768mb pc2100 ram
40gig barricuda
7 32cfm case fans
Okay, I've had this problem for a while. I'll be browsing forums, or playign a game, and my screen will just go black, I can still hear audio (be it a game, winamp, etc...) I shut my rig off. If i start it up within the next 5ish minutes I can see everything upto the logon screen, then it'll go black, or have random color going vertically across the screen. If I wait approx 15-20mins it'll boot up and be fine (most of the time) When this first started appearing was shortly after I got this card, maybe first week of august or so. Right now I'm typing on an ole Voodoo 3, not the 8500. The screen will goto black when ever I scroll down on forums with my mouse wheel (mx500), click a link, or just random times in games (I'm devoted CS gamer, My rig did this in 1.5, and 1.6, so it's not that) I've formatted the better part of 6-7 times (losing count) the last one was 2 weeks ago. Everything was fine til I got my first black screen on this format Sunday (28th). I've tried omega drivers, older ATI drivers, what XP automatically installs for drivers on the 8500. On the SB live i've tried the first update (like 20ish megs), the 2nd update, and just the plane ones XP installs. I even thought for a while it might be my mx500, I've tried the latest from Logitech, and plane XP ones, nothing. If tried bout 3 sets of drivers for my MB, and that hasn't helped anything either. I'm thinking it's either heat, or something just keeps fubaring on my 8500. I think it might be heat, but i'd be browsing for forums for about 15 mins, and it'll just spontainously do it. I'm running outta ideas. I think it's just a fault in the video card, I baught it off a member here on the forums (not dogging on him, the tranaction went fine) I have NO money to get a new card, that is outta the question at this point in time. If you have any questions PLZ ASK! I know my typing sucks, and not all the events happened, so sorry 🙁
