Can someone give me a link to an article that would points from these types of televisions and put them side by side?

Also, in a nutshell, what would be the best type of television quality wise (Picture, aspect ratio etc.) without going into price at all.

Plasma.

It currently has the highest number of pixels per inch, and the contrast ratio on the newer sets is amazing.

Too bad they only last 7-10 years. :(

just visit best buy or circuit city and see for yourself, it is quite clear.

Latest Home Theater Magazine reviewed several new Plasma sets and still found them lacking in consistency across all features (not one set rose above the others). Black levels are improving but still not to RPTV/DLP sets and the price is still higher. Plus, the resolution is lower than an RPTV but not many broadcasters, if any, are sending full HD resolution.

Do you have some sort of link to this or anything like this?

Tube's still my favorite for overall quality/price.. projection rocks cause of the size/weight/price.. picture quality is not quite as good as the others but is still good when using High Def... plasma is awesome for the size... totally sweet... very sharp. pretty much as good if not better than tube from what i've seen.. but OMG expensive! also a good size..

i like projection personally cause they are not too expensive... wide screen, not too heavy/easy to move when need be.. and the picture is good when hooked up right (not regular cable or anything)

Lower resolution than the LCOS RP TV's, but I ignored those due to their exorbitant price.

Unfortunately, i'm one of the few that notices the rainbow effect with DLP projectors, although i've never had the chance to check out a RP DLP set though.

The only thing I see good about them now is their small footprint. Not worth the money IMO...not by a longshot. I like deep, truer-to-life blacks anyway and Plasma isn't there yet.

Plasmas are still only at 1024 x 768. They can do 720p natively, which is great. But, Mitsubishi has a new 50" plasma that's 1365 x 768

The new Sony (ugh) HV34XBR910 will smoke it big time.

looks nice too, only 34 inches, but i could deal, heh

It's the biggest/best widescreen HDTV set that will fit in my wall unit. That's why i've been keeping an eye on it. ;)

Dude I'll be charging admission to my theater!!! ;)

I'll be livin in guelph :D

If you want a HDTV, go to future shop NOW! The 50" Toshiba is only $2599 (Canadian), then they give you an automatic 7% discount, dropping it to $2417. Then when he knew I was buying the extended warranty ($250) he dropped the price to an even $2200 (only took me 3 minutes to convince), delivery was free. $2200!!! This set was at least $3500 a few months ago.

I bought it earlier this afternoon and at the time they still had 400 units of it in stock (toronto warehouse) but they had already sold 10 sets in the one store alone that day. Dude said they'll probably be gone in less than a week and they may not get anymore since Tosh is coming out with new models in July.

Don't tell me you're going to be a Gryphon now too!

As for the Toshiba, yeah it's a great deal, but I have a limited amount of space in my wall unit. Because of that, the best TV that will fit is the new Sony XBR in spite of the ridiculous price it will command when it first comes out. Hopefully if I wait a bit, it will drop in price. :)

really? all the lower end plasmas i've seen have sorry @ss resolution far below hdtv that many tube/projection tv's can handle.

not to mention you can easily see these pixels, and plasmas idea of black is... grey.
