When doing a rebuild on tub faucets why do the kits like below state they are for certain manufacturers or collections. The link below appears to be a full kit.
I've never done this and have a leak that needs fixing

As far as I can tell I have Pfister Crown Imperial, which irritatingly enough I cannot find kits for. Are all the valve/stems different?
