I want to replace my 25 mm fan with a 38 mm and I want to keep the grill installed so I need longer screws. I took one of the screws from the cooler and went shopping to several hardware stores, Radio Shack and a local pc shop and couldn't find the correct thread size.
I also couldn't get info on what the thread is. I think it is a metric size, but I'm not sure what it is or where to get the screws. Any suggestions? I emailed tech support at Thermaltake.

I'd suggest taking it to a home improvment store like Home Depot or Lowes and they should be able to match it or tell you the thread size.

In the hardware section of Home depot they have displays with threads and thread sizes in them. Take the bolt in question with you and see with threaded hole it fits into. That's how I figure out what size is what. I'm sure other hardwares have similar displays.
