Tsunami Case and Asus A8n-e cooling questions

Hi all!

Just finished building my new computer, relevant specs as follows.

AMD 4200+
Asus A8n-e
BFG GeForce 7800GTX
Tsunami Dream case with window

Now here's my problem. My processor is running a little warmer than expected, running between 34-38c at idle depending on whether it's the Ntune monitor(cooler) or the MB(Hotter) reporting the temps. I ran two instances of Prime95 last night for a few minutes and my temps went up to 46c under load before I shut them down(Ntune monitor).

I originally was getting temps in the 40's until I pulled the HS and reapplied the Artic Silver discovering the coverage on the core was a little spotty.

I've read in many places that the fans on the Tsunami case were loud. But on mine I can't hear them at all, they're very quiet. So I'm beginning to wonder if Airflow isn't why I'm getting temps higher than I thought I would.

I hooked up all of the fans, and the Front Intake and Rear Exhaust fans are hooked to the motherboard monitors. All of the fans are sharing the same chain of power connectors along with the DVDR drive. The other chain is dedicated to the 7800GTX. Seasonic 430w Dual Rail PS btw, don't know if it matters.

The Bios is reporting rotation speeds of ~2000 for the CPU, and ~1500-2XXX for the two case fans.

Cool & Quiet and Q-fan are disabled in Bios.

Anyone have any ideas? Does this all sound ok, or is something maybe not right with my setup?

I'm a little lost because I'm planning on venturing into my first OC with this processor, and haven't payed attention to this stuff before.

Reapplied my Artic Silver again, this time a little smaller because I'd been misunderstanding it's purpose and dropped the temps from ~36c to ~33-34c.

But my fans are still worrying me. After checking Thermaltake's site I see they're 1800rpm fans, but only running at 1300.

Is there any way anyone knows of to force these fans to run at their max?

You could always invest in one of many fan speed controllers...

I use the Zalman MFC1!! To be honest it has nothing to do with the fact its Zalman!
I just liked the way it looked when added to my Black case!!
But I have not been disappointed the fan control in my opinion is very necessary to keep noise down to tolerable levels!!

Mind you tolerable to me doesn`t necessarily mean quiet!!!
I do like the way I can adjust the fan speed!! I also like the 2 12v-- OFF--5c adjustments also!!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi...=0&minPrice=&maxPrice=&Go.x=19&Go.y=30

There are alot of different brands and most of them work very well!!!

Those temps are good. In a room temp of around 74-76F you are right on target. As far as the fans go (I'm not very familiar w/ your psu), are they connected to a "fan only" 4 pin molex? That will change the speeds according to psu load if it applies w/ your psu. Those TT fans at full are way loud to me. I had the TT Tsunami (never bothered using their fans after hearing them) and sold it a month ago. It was a great cooling case, just resonated like a civ. 46C load under Prime after a few minutes? or after 1 hour? Your safe up to around 60C @ load actually, but I like to keep mine at 50C or below.
