I would never fly with my children due to things like this. As a parent, that makes me rage.

Everybody goes through security. You don't like it, you don't fucking fly. Can't get pissed at somebody who has to do his job.

TSA only gives us a false sense of security, when have they actually caught someone with a bomb ?

Do we really need to swab a kids hands for plastic explosive residue. Time to fire the TSA once and for all.

I dont have a problem swabbing the wheelchair or checking it for explosives, but WHY in GODS NAME swab the kids hands and his back and stuff?? Did they honestly think the 3 y.o. secretly BUILT a fucking bomb, purposely broke his own leg so he could go in a wheelchair, and then strap the bomb to it???

WTF

No but the TSA might think that the parents might've put stuff on the kid and the leg might not be broken and the cast is just a cover to stuff in more contraband.

people use kids to smuggle contraband all the time. And it's very popular overseas to use children as suicide bombers. I have no problem with this as long as it is done in a respectful way with parents watching.

I was in Orlando on my way back to my place. There was this old disabled man that had a powered scooter that was disassembled so I put it back together.

when they swabbed my hand, it triggered the sensor. I was pulled aside for a more detailed search. I explained I was helping the elderly gentleman and the agent said it was probably the battery.

but the one in the video is not a powered one so I don't get why.

As concerning as that might be for the three or so minutes it takes place, I don't think there will be a long lasting impact on the kid.

That said, I don't see a problem. They can't pick out people that "look like terrorists" because they'd be profiling. What they can do is inspect anyone who cannot be scanned, IE - a kid in a wheelchair.

My MIL was (RIP) an amputee and would ride a wheel chair through the airport. She would go through searches at every airport just the same. It was annoying, but it goes with anyone who cannot be scanned. They were polite, just as the TSA agent in the video was. He was not trying to intimidate the child. He was courteous, and kind.

Honestly, what do you expect? They're the freaking TSA. They have to inconvenience you as that is what all security check points are. Caucasians aren't without having some serious issue with whatever form of government they want to act against. The Bapist church that goes around protesting funerals and that sort of thing. The simple idea is that if someone wants to get a dangerous weapon past security, they'll do whatever they can to do it. Kids are the most likely to be overlooked.

It may've lasted a little long, but it was 3 minutes. Yeesh. And it was in a fairly open area, it wasn't in a locked room with a metal table in the middle.
