ts3, weird mic sounds

hi,

if i attach my 10€ headset via a 1,5m extension cable (both, earpads and mic seperately of course) people hear noise from me after some amount of time...then its gone and starts again somewhere later.

it works without the extension, now is this a problem with the cheap headset, the onboard soundcard or the extension?

What audio conferencing program? Does the sound go away if you speak? Many programs have an auto-gain feature that keeps jacking up the mic gain while you're quiet.

ts3 = teamspeak 3

the weird sound happens with me or without me talking. since ts3 works without the extension without problems i dont think that theres a gain change.

The thing is is that the extension cable increases t he impedance on the line, which has a definite impact on the gain necessary to get to a certain volume. Does the problem happen with any other programs (e.g. Skype)?

i can speak normally for some time and then it does a "beep, beep, beep" and shuts up again for some time until it comes back. its periodic.

its not that its always there

i dont use other apps with my mic.

Do other people literally hear beeping sounds? I assumed by noise you mean normal white noise.

Also, I am suggesting that you try another app to confirm whether or not the problem is with Teamspeak or with all programs.
