Trying to use sharp LC-46D62U as my monitor for

i-5 3330 CPU 3 ghz 16 gb ram
geforce GT 520
windows 8.1

The main trouble is the HDTV has no VGA.

I have connected an hdmi cable on the main PC to the HDMI on the HDTV.

I have also connected a vga to HDMI cable to the HDTV.

Both are not getting a picture from the PC.

I am not sure how to find the input signal that my PC is putting out to make the TV receive it. OR if that is even necessary.

Please email me or list anything that might help thank you

Make sure computer is completing its POST and boot routine to end up in the OS, and that refresh rate is set to what the TV supports... on a different monitor.

Power off, connect to TV, turn both on. Wait till computer finishes booting and use the TV remote to cycle through the video input options.

vga to hdmi will not work.

following mindless1 instructions if it is not working on "different monitor" go into your bios and make sure the hdmi port is turned on. If you have onboard hdmi and put a video card in it may turn off your onboard hdmi. i run 4 monitors on my card and 1 off of the onboard video from the mother board.

If still not working check the hdmi cable is not bad.
