Trying to use akai 27" LCD as monitor?

I can boot into safe mode and it appears to work, but I still can't get it to use the widescreen resolutions it purportedly supports. Using an NVIDIA Quadro FX2000 with a DVI to VGA adapter (regrettably)

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Akai model number is LCT2715, supposedly 1366 x 768 native...

Could be that the resolution is not set to 1366x768. Also worth mentioning that 1366 is not divisible by 8 so the res could be unsupported. Finally it could be that the TV gives an EDID info (if it even does) which is not correct that would mean that you're out of luck. But I think it's just the res. I suppose you have already tried to hook up a different monitor, set the res and the plug the AKAI back?

Edit: well, if you are indeed using the adapter then it certainly has to be the res. Try to set it on a different monitor.

yeah i knew it wouldn't do 1366x768... I was hoping for 1280x800 or something, it looks like 1024x768 is the best I can do.

but for whatever reason, everytime i restart, it goes back to the blue screen (no signal) and I have to hook up to another monitor and set the resolution then switch back... any ideas?

hook it up to another monitor and set the resolution to 1280x720. Make sure you DONT have the refresh rate above 60.

shut down the computer and hook up the LCD, turn on the computer and it should go into windows just fine.

thats what I am doing, I hook up a smaller monitor, set the resolution to 1024x768 and the refresh rate to 60hz. I can switch over the VGA cable at this point, no problem. But upon restarting the resolution has defaulted higher and requires a reconnect to the smaller monitor to reset the resolution. (until i perfect doing it with just the keyboard....)

no idea why the resolution changes on a restart...
