trying to ssh into ubuntu running in parallels in 10.5

Is it possible that 10.5 is blocking the connection?
because in ubuntu when I ssh localhost it says:

ssh: connect to host localhost port 22: Connection refused



I am ssh'ing from a macbook

any ideas would be great

Did you install the openssh-server package? It's not there by default.

any firewalls etc enabled? I dont know Mac at all, so I cant be of much use on that, but Ubuntu may have something running. check netstat in Ubuntu and ensure that the ssh server is actually listening on port 22?

Check your sshd.config file for any weirdness -- also hosts.deny.

Also, what do you see in yoru system logs?
