I have two computers that I am working with at work, a desktop and a laptop.

The laptop can communicate with the desktop without any problems. However, if I attempt to explore or map a drive TO the laptop from the desktop it grays out the user name area and assigns me the guest login.

I need cannot figure out what to change to allow me to use my user name at login. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party Firewall instructions.

I guess I should have mentioned that these are XP Pro machines. I have a third party firewall (F-Secure) that has allowed the ip's to mingle. Windows Firewall is disabled.
