Hi, i just purchased a Cisco / linksys SGE 2000P managed switch. I am very new to networking and the only reason I bought a managed switch was because of POE for IP cameras I am installing.

Well I just set it up and the internet is sharing accross computers perfectly when I send signal from my modem to one of the ports, but my Server / NAS which is running windows home server is attached to one of the ports but I can not share files amongst the attached computers.

This is a home network. Do I have to set up VLANS? Should I be layer 2 or 3? How do I get basic router functionality with this switch? I do not want to do anything fancy. I just want to be able to share files between the ports. I can not even see the NAS or any other computers from My Networks with the switch. When I had my regular old netgear router I attached the NAS to one of my ports and I was able to share files easily.

Please help!!!!!
