Trying to set up DNS and DHCP in 2003 server with two nics.

I have internet via Cable and it goes into my Linksys router. I then want it to go from my router to my 2003 server to the NIA "onboard network adaptor" then I want the NIC "the secon adaptor" to go to my hub where all of my computers will connect to and go through my server for internet.

I hope this make sense.

I have the router setup as 192.168.0.1and the NIA as 192.168.0.2 with its gateway as 192.168.0.1
Setting up the server has given me a headache for 7 days now.

Can some one point me in the right direction on setting up DHCP and DNS on the server in the way I have described please

Bigg, you are correct with the router as XXX.XXX.XXX.1 and NIA XXX.XXX.XXX.2, be sure you are able to connect to the internet.

For the lan nic you can setup with any internal ip address with no gateway (this was my biggest hang up), but for this connection you should be on another hub/swith to your lan. Run the manage your computer wizard for typical settings, dhcp and dns should be automatically setup. Be sure you point the correct nic (NIA) as the public nic to connect to the internet. All other computers should be hooked up to the lan hub/switch.

This is basically how I setup my network. Let me know if you need more details.

Ok so now I may have something going on.

I keep the router at 192.168.0.1 and the only thing going out of it is going to Windows 2003 box into the NIA and it is setup as 192.168.0.2 and its gateway is 192.168.0.1.

Ok now I leave the NIC settings alone and that cable goes to my HUB where all of my other computers are connected. This should work??

Once I get home this eve or tomorrow I will try this and see.
