trying to saturate a large watermellon full of vodka, it isnt absorbing. How do i do this?

well, long weekend here in canada, and i wanted to try somthing different. Sure jello shots are fun, but i wanted to 'spice' up the fruit salad a bit. I read that you just cut a hole in the top of the watermellon and pour in some vodka, but it isnt absorbing all that much :\

someone suggested it should be frozen the night before and hten you pour hte vodka in. I suppose i could cut up the watermellon and soak it in vodka, but that will require extra effort

Cut hole
remove some watermellon guts
pour in vodka
replace melon plug
chill for multiple hours in fridge or freezer

My Method:

Drink vodka

Cut hole in watermelon.

Urinate into watermelom.

Good enough for them.

I heard s/b once say that you cut a hole (in the top) the same size as the neck of the bottle, then put the bottle in and give it as long as it needs to absorb. Might take a day or two, I don't know..

Osmosis and diffusion state that eventually, the water and vodka will exchange across the membrane (watermellon cells) until the vodka:water concentration inside will equal the concentration outside...assuming that the membrane is permeable to vodka and water (which I can personally testify to).

Slice watermelon in half (long-ways)

Cut slits all over, this will make bite sized
chunks of watermelon.

Pour vodka over each half. (Use a whole 750ml bottle for
the entire waterleon)

Let soak for 1 hour.

Eat chunks &amp; get snockered.
