1: The MacBook Pro is an IntelMac and therefore its version of Tiger only will work on IntelMacs.
2: The OEM disks that come with each mac are only usable on Macs of that type. So, for example, my Core Duo MacBook Tiger Install disks will not work on Tyranicus' Core Duo MacBook Pro.
You will need to get your hands on a retail set of disks. Also, if the system came with 10.3 it is strictly speaking a violation of the EULA to install 10.4 onto it if you didn't buy a separate copy for it.
Just found out that we can order the discs from apple for $12, so thats what we are going to do.
In other news, the Ipod touch I got for my sister won't work with 10.3 and its not worth spending $210 to upgrade a 4 year old laptop for the latest OSX and iLife, so I'm going to have to try to sell the thing.
And of course, my sister had to go and open the damned thing, even though its never been setup. And now shes pouting because I'm going to sell it.
16GB 2nd gen touch. Not even setup. The only thing we did was take it out of the box to charge it and put a clear screen protector on it. I'm hoping to sell it locally for $275ish so I don't have to deal with losing money on shipping etc.
ah, i see. i'd check the local craigslist for a Tiger Mac for under $100 you could just clone to the iBook using FireWire.

couldn't you find a copy of 10.4.9?
