OK. I'm not a hardware jock, and I'm not running on a system I built here. (I do have a homebrew system at home, but at work they make me stick with their stuff). I'm running an HP system, P3 600, 192 megs Ram, running Windows 98SE. The onboard video is an AGP (on the MB), which is an Nvidia Riva TNT. I've added a PCI ATI AIW 128 Pro card. I got the PCI card running just fine, but it "killed" the AGP card, rather than letting me run on 2 monitors.
As far as I can figure, each card wants to occupy IRQ 0 and memory location 00000000-0000FFFF. Although I've gotten into BIOS and told it to make the AGP card the primary card, it makes no difference. I've switched that BIOS setting, and I've also "removed" the cards (alternatively) from the system via the device manager. I've also confirmed I'm using the latest drivers for each card.
Can anyone tell me how I can get both cards running together? I know that the best solution is to run on a better motherboard or better cards (or a dual head card) but this is what I have to work with.
Can anyone help out.
Thanks in advance.
HC.
