Trying to print over a network

show my computers. Here is my setup. Two desktops, both running XP Pro SP2 and one Laptop running XP Home SP2. I am using a basic NetGear Router. The router has four ports for computers and is wireless ready. The main thing I am looking to achieve is to allow for network printing. Only one of the desktops has a printer attached to it, and i want the other desktop to access it via the network, and the the laptop, to access the printer via wireless.

I have all of the computers in a workgroup called "homenetwork" with the setting to automatically find IP address and network settings. Most of the time now, the computers are able to access each other, ie shared documents and such, but i still cannot access a printer on one of the desktops from the laptop.

The laptop is able to see the other two computers, via wireless connection, but when I go to add a printer, the shared printer on the desktop, does not show up in the wizard.

I'm hoping some one can offer some help here to what my problem may be.

Once more, two desktops, one laptop, looking to access a printer on one of the desktops.
Running the computer through a netgear wireless router.

thanks,
T.K.

1. try not to use the wizard for now
2. make sure you go to the desktop with the printer and make sure the printer is really shared.

To do this go to the printers section and right click on the pritner and click sharing and security. makre sure it is shared and remember the name.

3. go to the laptop and browse the netwrok unti lyou get to the desktop directory. there should be a doler called printers and faxes or something similar. navigate it and you sill see the printer.
4. right lcick on it and click connect
5. once it is done, try to print to it🙂

Hey i figured it out, and i just ended up using the wizard. I had ZoneAlarm Firewall running on the lappy, and once i shut it off, that solved the problem.
thanks for your help.
