Trying to play DOS games

I'm trying to play some DOS based games in Windows XP but whenever I click the .exe it says "attempt to access invalid address". I then make a shortcut and put it into Win95 compatibility mode and get the same error.

Anyone know of any solution??

Just use Dosbox for those. Even if you get the game to run natively in XP, you won't get any sound.

XP does have a rudimentary 8 bit SB function built into its DOS emulation - but that's mostly academic, because it sucks donkey parts. I'd go with Dosbox too, or if you're so inclined, cobble one together.

Arena?? I just had a look at that game...didn't play much but will give it a go.

I just DLed and tried DOSbox myself, it's impressive. SB16 emulation is almost perfect.

Time to play Crusader: No Remorse again 😀
