Trying to pick out a photo editing software to get my mom for xmas (she's old!)

Alright, so, my mom, well, she's a nice woman, but she's not what you would call computer literate by any real sense of the word. For xmas we're getting her a nice digital camera, photo printer, and some editing software to go along with it. She enjoys this stuff, she just isn't inclined to learn it all naturall like we are😛

So, anyways. I'm looking at getting some software, < $100, that will allow her to make some nice adjustments without needing a seperate guide for the program. I'm looking at something probably that can have automated scripts for auto levels, auto eposure/contrast, sharpening, while also allowing her to do that stuff by hand if she desires.

I use photoshop elements myself, and thats fine for me, but way over her head. I was thinking that the newest version of MS Picture It! might work for her, but it sucks that they don't offer a demo or trial of it, I don't wanna get her something and have it be all wrong.

Any suggestions?

The GIMP? Free is good. Just show her how to fiddle with it......is your mom smart? She'll figure it out. I think your underestimating her.

And I can already see that this is going to be edited by someone else into: is your mom hot?

Pics? 😛

Edit: and I meant fiddle with the GIMP, not....it.

Double Edit:

Wow, my mind is just lolling about in the gutter today.
