Hello,

I've never over clocked a motherboard/CPU before so I'm starting from ground zero. I installed the latest intel desktop control center I could find for my motherboard IDCC_2.1.0009.exe. It says "an unexpected error occurred during initialization" when I try to open it even on reboot. I'm running the latest BIOS for this motherboard and tried temporarily disabling the antivirus and firewall - still no joy.

Nothing shows up in the event viewer

I'm running Windows XP 32 SP2 with all the latest patches.

Suggestions?

Thanks

OK - I figured out the issue - I had newer SMBUS drivers than their utility and control center work with - I used older ones and it resolved the issue.

Unfortunately now I'm aware that my system zone 1 is exceeding 64 degrees celcius - worse yet - I have no idea where zone 1 is on my motherboard! :) I'm guessing it is the part beneath the processor since they both seem to be about the same temperature - averaging around 61 degrees.

I also have no idea how to overclock my system - I though the intel control center would make that easy but it seems oriented towards overclocking my memory not my processor.
