Trying to networking Win2k and Win98SE

I just recently get one of my computer running on Win2k Pro, the other stay with Win98SE. I have one problem: I can not get the windows 2000 computer to see Win98SE machine, or vice versa. I'm running TCP/IP on all the machines, with file and printer sharing service and client for Microsoft windows running on all of them. I can not view the other computer (nor itself) on the Windows 2000 in the Network Places, and I want to be able to share files on all the computer. before I change to win2k, everything is fine.. and I do setup the user account on Win2k for the other machine.

Is there anyway to share the files with just TCP/IP and not using NetBEUI? Thanx a lot

The subnet is very unlikely to affect it (assuming you've got sensible IPs assigned...)

The problem is discussed in this thread and seems to be to do with XPs built in firewall. It jumps on any interesting packets and kills them. Disable it on any internal connections.

What would XP's built in firewall have anything to do with him networking a Win2k and Win98se machine?
