This weekend I'm driving my brothers car to him from Tulsa to Keesler AFB, and am considering my options for getting back. The cheapest one way flights are still about $325 but with 3 stops (ugh, although it'd be neat to see the world a bit, even if only from a terminal), a greyhound bus with two stops is ~$140 (MEGA MEGA UGH) and I doubt any car rentals would rent to an 18 year old. (although if there is one that would strongly be preferred)

Any ideas/suggestions? Trying to get this done on the cheap as much as possible

No hitchiking/walking/etc

Hitchhike.

Edit: Hitchhiking in the South really works. Once you get to Oklahoma you'll have to probably go Greyhound as folks are less friendly there.

That's fine if you want to risk being decapitated by an angry Asian man.

I'd take the bus, and see the countryside. It's slow, but you'll get a good view of the territory.

I would SO go for a train, but Amtraks website is baffling me and I don't really know any other services. The couple I did find were like $400 though :\

Some places will rent to 18+ for an increased rate, I'd call around some if you're interested (not sure if this also applies to one-way rentals). Just make sure you have a backup plan in case they end up boning you.
