Mission Accomplished

Two layers of green felt on the bottom using spray on tacky glue and one layer on the edges and I have a pretty nice looking tray. Nice and quiet dice rolling with enough bounce to prevent the sharp edged dice from chipping and to get a good random-ish toss. Hardest part is cutting straight or curved shapes in felt, thankfully the seams blend really nice, so you can't see my crooked cuts!

Just have lots of games that use dice and didn't want to chip up my tables. I'll try add a pic when I get home.

My Dad used to play this game, Balut. This is what they used to roll the dice. Roll it and slam on the table. :awe:

As long as you don't use a dice tower, I am okay with it. I despise the concept of a dice tower and think if you are taking the hand away from the toss then you should just use a damn die rolling app instead.

I just discovered dice towers, I didn't realize that was what Tom Vasel's videos were named after. Though taking your hand out of it probably makes it more random if you introduce some sort of technique. But still I wouldn't like it for the noise aspect.

Chinese people use a big porcelain bowl. 8" diameter or so. Makes a noisy game when you throw the dice in.

And my nice precision milled casino dice arrived....and I learned that standard dice are 15mm, not 19mm. These things are huge!
