I'm a little confused as to what you're trying to accomplish. You want to copy the 4 floppies onto a CD so you can boot from them? Can't you just boot from the original CD? What is a 'hot swappable' laptop? Or are you trying to create the 4 bootup diskettes that come with win2k?

The Win2K cd is bootable, forget the floppies.

WTF is a hot swap labtop?

some versions of the windows 2000 CD are not bootable... i have the corporate edition, that doesn't require a CD-KEY, and it does not boot. i've tried making a boot CD by going to this site, but couldn't get it to work.

"hot swappable" is a term reserved for any piece of hardware that can be removed and reinserted without cause for a reboot. it mainly pertains to PCMCIA cards in laptops. what the relevance to this and not wanting to have to use the disks, i'm not too sure...

remove the hard drive from the laptop and place it in your computer and run win2k setup as usual except when it goes to configer hardware and settings WOOPS!!!! you turn the power off and place the hard drive back in the laptop and carry on with the setup in the laptop!!!
