Trying to install print server: LinkCom Express

instead it prints blanks.

i follow steps, assign static ip to mac address inside/outside DHCP range of my home network
(5 PCs with WinXP, Xbox, ip phone adapter, file server, vdr video recoder)

but i cant ping it.

printer is fine when attached to a pc and shared with the rest.

any toughts before i chuck it out? (bought it cheaply on ebay...)
