Trying to install OfficeXP SP1 and keep getting an error!

I've downloaded the file twice now and I get this error message....

Extracting file failed. It is likely caused by low memory (low Disk space for swapping file) or corrupted cabinet file.

Now, I have 1GB of Ram, 30 GB of disk space free and I downloaded the file from Microsoft. Anyone know what gives?

I installed it, and now whenever I start an MS program, I get a little box that pops up and says "preparing to install", and sometimes I also get a message about the patch version not working.....also, when I go to the Office update site, for show installed updates, it only shows the Office 2k updates I have (for Access & Publisher), not any of my XP updates...very annoying!

Sounds like a POS update that MS pushed out too early. Maybe not. Office XP has been out at least 2 months Lots of ppl having different problems aren't they?

I'll give it a miss then......Thanx for that.
