Are you getting the error when trying to install the game or when trying to run it?

Well, I install the game. Then the 1.3 update. Then after that...I go and install 1.2 and 1.21 and then I put the 1.31a into emz. This error comes up while I try to run the game.

This is the same exact why I installed on XP. And works fine. I know other's are playing on Vista. So I know it works.

Because 1.3 is installed to the BASE folder, while the rest is installed to the EMZ folder. Would it make a difference like this ?

lol looks just like the error box from Quake 3, though I doubt you need to dl a opengl patch for your voodoo card to fix it...

No Norton will not cause that why were just kidding, but Norton 360 does suck :)

You should uninstall Doom3 complete and delete the program folder.

Then reinstall game with updates in order, if you game disc is 1.3, then only install updates > 1.3.

Why is it that as decent software (ex. Nero) gets newer and newer versions, it eventually degrades itself into bloatware? I fvking hate this. Don't release newer versions if they're better.

ICQ was the king of shooting itself in the foot. I remember (I think) ICQ 97 and 98 were awesome, but each year after that it got more and more crappy.

Yeah, I've seen this with a lot of programs. I guess they want people to keep buying the newer versions even when the thing is already perfect, so they add in fancy skins and other useless crap that slows it down. :p

I think ICQ was bought by AOL in 2000. I remember that everyone in my clan used to keep using the fairly lightweight ICQ99b for at least a year after 2000 was out.

Another particularly bad example of this is PSP, from version 9 to 10.
