Trying to install 3com 905B drivers

I'm running W98se and got 2 3c905b's, one with a disk installed fine and took its drivers from w98 while the other one(905B-TX-has w-on-l connector) wont install. I tried pointing it to the other disk but it reports, installed but not working properly. Tried downloading drivers but there's all kinds in the disk 1 & 2 download but nothing specific I can see and when I pointed it at it still couldn't find.

Are the 3com 905b drivers in the w98 disk? Any ideas why it wont install?
I'm not great at networks and only had one working for a short while here. I use twisted cable and the install online manual says to connect the cables after installing the nic's. Does this matter?

ERRRR. Windows 98 and more than one network card equals a pain in the butt. For some reason it doesn't like more than one NIC. Unfortunately I don't know what the workaround is but I remember hearing that there was one. Had to edit some registry keys or something. You might try looking online at NTCompatible or some other hardware site. Definitly try MS' Knowledge Base.

I've successfully dropped a netgear and a 3com in my old Win98 machine without a hitch. I'm not sure if the fact that they're made by different manufacturers makes too much difference, but I know that 3com drivers in the 905 chipsets try to run that crap in the systray. Get a cheap Netgear card and try running that one with one of your 3coms...if you don't wanna go the Netgear route, look for an Intel. This may save you a lot of hassel.
