Trying to Image WinXP Pro

I have been trying to clone WinXP from the G: Partition on Drive A to the G: Partition on
Drive B. Using Ghost 7.2 it clones fine and the clone will boot as long as I leave both drives
connected. Once I remove Drive A the clone will get to the Welcome Screen and get stuck
there. I have noticed that the PATH Variables are different but I tried changing them all to
G: both in System Properties and the Registry but it still didnt work. I know I am working with some old software but I think that Ghost 7.2 can do this properly. I am just missing something.

Just an idea, Before you Clone from partition to partition go into
-Computer Management
-----Disk Management
Click on the your "Drive B, G partition" and Mark as Active Partition. Then clone from partition to partition.

Im not 100% on this, but I would give it a shot.

I finally got it to work by re-imaging the Partition and this time disconnecting the source
drive before I booted.

You should ALWAYS disconnect the original drive before booting to a cloned partition... This is one of the golden rules of cloning drives, and one of the most common errors... The system just gets confused if you don'e of which drive is which.

WinXP was working fine for me the past two years. I messed up the Partition Table by trying a Beta
Linux Distro. I knew there was something I was missing when cloning the drives beause in the past I
had no trouble with the process. Well, I won't forget that step again. Thanks.
