i have an old Ti 200 with a small passive heatsink on. it was pulled from a dell, and i think dell have some kind of arrangement for cooling it

however on its own it gets too hot, and artifacts slighty. so i thought id replace the sink.

after pretty much destroying the push pins (ie they no longer work) the thing still wont budge, ive even warmed it up on a red hot radiator in my room (heating is set to 75degrees C so the radiators are at least 60-65degrees C) for an hour till and it still showed no signs of movement

im hoping that the HS hasnt been epoxy'd on

I've never had to heat a sink to get it off. You might ask in the video forum but I do recall that some would be frozen to pop them off. The card in placed in a Zip-Lock bag, frozen for an hour, then poped off with a quick pry.

Rather than hassle this low-end card with removing the passive sink, just bond a thin fan to it with four dots of silicone adhesive. BGMicro has 60x10mm fans for<$2.30. They will start/run at 5V. Put two of them on it at 5V=silent.

I bought 4 of these fans for HD cooling, so I knpw that they work well at 5V.

Not telling you how to run the Brit Railway but at that price, just keep it as a spare for testing purposes. It's nice to have a known good card to swap-out when a problem *might* come up in the future. Many of us have a less than desirable PSU on hand to do the same thing.
