Trying to get some sound on old dos game

Old Dos Game called Cannon Fodder
The options in the config are No sound, adlib, soundblaster, soundblaster pro, Roland.

soundblaster and SB pro give me errors nothing happens on the others for sound.

Can get sound fine on my old crappy pb generic card/win98.
but on creative pci 16 bit /win xp
and audigy2 zs or onboard sound/winxp
I get nothing. Suggestions??

You'd need to load Creative's "DOS soundblaster emulation software" to make sound work in a DOS game in Windows. I don't know if it works in XP.

You can try DOSBox or VDMSound. Google for VDMSound and here's DosBox:

isn't that soundblaster emulation supposed to be built into NTDVM in xp for just that reason?

modeps: yes it was trying to find a good copy of cannon fodder 2 also its running for me in dosbox by the way..
