the newest drivers on the dell website are like 2.5 years old. my laptop desperately needs newer drivers because it keeps crapping out. it is an inspiron 5150, so no surprise there i guess.
i cant find a firmware or driver update newer than december 2004. help!
I have a 5700Go in my Toshiba laptop and it never lets me upgrade the drivers from Nvidia, even though it should. I think you need to wait until your mfr updates them and if they don't you're hosed. Could be completely wrong though. If it's possible I'd like to figure out how to do it as well.
You cannot use stock NV drivers because they are prohibited from installing on mobile GPU's. You can use modded drivers; these are tweaked drivers modded to remove the check for the mobile GPU:
