Trying to get a refund

I ordered a product from Outpost.com on December 8th.
I didn't receive any confirmation email, so I figured my order had not gone through... next time I will double check, but at the time it seemed apparent.

The next morning I ordered the same product from newegg.com, then I finally received a confirmation email from outpost.com that night.

I called them the next morning, requesting that they don't ship the item. The woman I talked to said it might be too late, but if it had already left the warehouse, then they would make sure it was not delivered, and that it be taken back to the warehouse.

She told me that as soon as they got it back, I would get my refund.

It has been almost two weeks now. They don't reply to my emails, and every time I call, I get disconnected somewhere in the 15-20minute hold time range. I successfully called them ONE time, and I was on hold for over 33 minutes.

What should I do? This is really really frustrating.

You should get better at life. Outpost is in business to sell things. They do not lose orders, nor do they ignore them. You should have realized this and just waited a little longer for your Outpost order.

BS.

My father is having the same, exact problem. We received a refurb Viewsonic monitor. It's crap, several dead pixels. Outpost will not refund his money, they won't answer his e-mails, etc.

So you know what he did? Chargeback with the credit card company. Now it's the CC's problem because of Outpost's inadequacies.

Didn't have any problems with the last order I did with them. Actually got the hard drive 2 days before it was scheduled to arrive.

In that case, I'm going to call the bank right now.
