I'm looking for a programming job in India. I have a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from an online American school. My school had a structured independent learning system so I learned C++ on my own. I have all my school projects saved. I could make a programming portfolio. How proficient are the programmers in India, what is the competition like? Will I be able to get a job at an MNC?

I have a few relatives in the computer field but they are all jack asses and don't help me and I don't need a job but I want a job.
 
Operating on the assumption that you are in India

You are going to have to do the same as any programmer in the US.

Polish your resume and send it out to companies that do software development.

Target the mailings to those that work within the field that you are most comfortable.

If there are job boards for India, also get the resume uploaded to them.
 
I have an Indian friend who got his undergrad in India before coming to the US. He said that companies over there desperate for people as more and more outsourcing heads to India.

He gave the example of a well-known company (I forget which) coming to his campus and hiring several hundred engineers and several hundred business majors in one day.
