Hi guys. My GTX970 is gone = which means I stopped to play games, as I didn't wanted to invest money into a new super dupper card, which would be expensive. free netflix I have a new born at home and and as well a new job, so not much time for gaming, tech news not much money to invest into gaming as well..

I was thinking in the meantime that I should buy GTX1060 8gb at least.. but today I found Sapphire Radeon PULSE ITX RX 570 4GD5, 4GB GDDR5 for a great price, and thought maybe this could replace my GTX 970... I dont need to invest much, will get a bit better performance.. android 9 what do you think about this solutioon? Thanks!

what resolution do you play at? 1060 6gb would be better than 570 4gb

I have been looking at new cards lately. I have a Radeon 5850 and have been thinking jumping to 580 or 590. I do not play that many games anymore on my PC so paying more than $250 for a video card is not worth the money.

I was in Micro Center the other day and the wanted $1500 for the new 2080 and the guy behind the counter was really pushing it until I told him the MSRP for the card was around $700.

Upgrading to a GTX 1060 or RX 580 is akin to upgrading to a GTX 980 which is pretty incremental from a GTX 970.

At minimum you need something like the upcoming 1660ti or maybe 1660 to really feel an upgrade, or the GTX 1070 and Vega 56 for existing cards.

What's the price on the 570? Unless it's really good, I'd go with a 1660 Ti which was just released, has a reasonable price, and should last you for a good long while, especially if you're just gaming more casually and not aiming for a higher resolution or exceptionally high FPS.

Well, newegg has them new starting at $133, and the 1660ti is supposed to be $280 ? not in the same price ballpark.

While that's true, the 570 is about on par with a 970. So to me it would be a question of "do I want to spend ~$130 to replace what I previously had, as well as potentially needing to upgrade again in the near future when that level of performance becomes unacceptable, or would I rather spend another ~$140 on top of that to get a performance boost over what I previously had, as well as a better hedge against needing an upgrade again any time soon?"

If the 570 were only say $100, then it becomes a lot more difficult to justify spending almost three times as much. I also get the impression that the poster isn't from the U.S. so who knows what the prices are like where he's from.

Yes, I would certainly go for a 2060 or a 1660ti depending on price and performance and budget.
