Hi everyone, I'm really just looking for some trouble shooting with setting up physx on my rig.

I've done everything i believe i should following various guides with drivers and mods and for some reason the 8800gt just isn't initializing physx.

I have it installed, gpuz is reading my system as physx ready, but when i load fluidmark i just crap out with color lines on the screen. When i load the nvidia particle fluid demo is says i need to have 8800 series or greater installed (which i do :S)

Any advice from someone that has their physx secondary hooked up would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using a bfg 8800gt for the physx card and a 5970 for my main.

In your nVidia control panel, go to PhysX options and chose the 8800GT and see if that helps, rather than leave it at auto. It may be that PhysX is enabled in your system, but leaving it set to auto it is using your cpu instead. Either that or the mod did not take properly.

@ Ravenseal - You can do hybrid Physx with the proper driver mod

if you had done it correctly, and it wasn't working, then fluidmark would be running in "software" physx mode (or whatever it's called). you shouldn't be just getting random color lines.

have you tested with just the 8800gt to verify that your card works with physx?

yeah the card works, i was playing with it last week to see what was going on, i'm gonna do some driver sweeping and try it with all the latest drivers and 3 different benchmarks to see what's up. I'll post again shortly

So i've installed everything again, run the mod patcher, and after i do so PhysX shows up in GPUz as active. When i run Fluid Mark the program freezes for a moment and then the nvidia display driver crashes and the program continues without producing and yellow balls. The program was working fine in cpu mode as it slowly produced some nice balls. Any ideas?

you need 157.15 drivers. Google something like radeon physx 157.15 . Pretty straight forward instructions. I have an 8800 gs running physx along side of crossfired 5870's. works like a charm

I'm running GTX 295 with 9800 GTX+ as dedicated physX, only drawback is not many games use physX and my card doesn't get used, except Metro2033, game is amazing!

that is the weakest example of physx out there as the game really doesn't use hardly any hardware level effects at all.

I'm having trouble locating those drivers, any chance you still have them in your user download folder and could upload and link to them? thanks

I have question, why do you want physx?

Sorry but I don't understand people that want Physx but keep on using AMD's gear...(driver nightmare)
