I have a Netgear WGR614v10 with firmware V1.0.2.54_60.0.82NA

I'm trying to forward ports for my Playstation 3. I click Add Custom Service in the Port Forwarding/Port Triggering page and then I add a name for the service and specify the port range and then click the address for the PS3 and then hit 'Apply'. Upon doing so it gives me an error saying the following:

The specified port(s) are being used by other configurations. Please check your configurations of Remote Management, Port forwarding, Port Triggering, UPnP Port Mapping table, RIP, and Internet connection type
I have no other port forwarding services, nor triggering, UPnP disabled, No idea what RIP is and my internet connection type is.. well a cable-internet connection unless they mean something else

I'll admit I am a COMPLETE idiot when it comes to networking so go easy on me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Im not an expert either... can only imagine some of the issue tho since i dont own a ps3 and dont know what ports u need. but if your not conflicting with Remote mgmt etc(if enabled), then perhaps you trying too large a range. the most common ports dont even need forwarding, just example 80 for webbrowsing, maybe wrong i dont remember you can google wiki most common net ports.

I usually only forward a single port tho if i need it for example your gaming port, you only need to forward your port... not the port range of the server your connecting or other players. so u dont normaly need a range.

Check the UPnP section on the router to make sure the ports haven't been automatically forwarded already by another program or device before you disabled UPnP. Sometimes rules will stay there even after you disable the service. If so, delete the rules there then go back and create the forwarding rule(s) that you need for the PS3.
