I have an old 100Watt PS100 (BookPC) power supply that I'm trying to fix. Basically, the problems with these units involve two capacitors that eventually burn up.

Well, one of the capacitors that needs replaced is a 2200uF 16V capacitor. But, I only have a 3300uF 16V capacitor and a 2200uF 35V capacitor. Which one would be better to use? Also, how is it gonna be affected?

Could I make the power supply a littler hardier if I change out the key capacitors to higher-rated ones?

If only we have a General Hardware forum...

Here's something to think about. Buy a new one!

I would personally use the 2200uF 35v, because 35v is the maximum voltage. Using the one with the higher value could have some undesired effects. If you are working with electronics like a power notebook, I would try to play it as safe as possible.
