A couple of months ago, my laptop (Averatec 3200) died. Right before it died, I received a blue screen that flashed numbers for a split second and then everything would shut down. I experienced this three or four times over a two day span and then it just died. When I power up the laptop, the only device that works is the cpu fan. The hard drive does not spin and the LCD screen remains black. There are no error beeps coming from the motherboard.
The first thing I did was I replaced the hard drive. Same problem. Then I replaced the memory. Same problem. Then I replaced the motherboard. Same problem. What else could it be? CPU?... LCD? Why does the cpu fan work, but nothing else works.
I realize this is an old laptop and I should buy a new one. I probably will. I want to try to fix it for the sake of learning how to fix it. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
