Trying to find some kind of wireless tool for xbox

Is there some kind of wireless card that has a lan hookup...or can i rig something up? I want a wireless "Card" that will plug into my xbox, so i can play xbox live... Is this even possible what im thinking?

Yes, you need a wireless bridge. There's even an "official" Microsoft one for the X-box.

You connect it to the Xbox via ethernet cable, and then it connects wirelessly with a wireless router.

I'm also trying to find a cheap solution to the connecting my xbox wireless ... it's in the liviing room, router is all the way in the enterntainment room. My router is xbox live compatible not really sure what the means

you only need the ethernet cable to connect to the bridge - which connects wirelessly to the router.... so you xbox can be in one room with the bridge --- and the router somewhere else.

What he means by connecting it to the xbox via and ethernet ethernet cable is that the adapter has an ethernet end to it that plugs into the ethernet port but at the other end is a wireless device. This device will connect to the access point. Just think of it as a dongle.

XBOX -> ethernet cable to wireless box -> wireless box transmitts to your router.

So, technically it isn't purely wireless. You have a wire running from the XBOX to the wireless adapter, which then transmits to your wireless router in the other room.

ah ... mah bad .... I was equating adapter with router ...

any cheap alternatives to the adapter ... linksys and m$ ones are pretty expensive or am I basically stuck with those.

I tried an 802.11b DLink bridge, and I was getting ~19k/sec. transfer... needless to say, I stopped using it (transferring a 3gb ISO would take DAYS).
