Trying to find my sister a laptop

My sister is going to college in two months and I am expected to find a nice laptop for her. She is not going to have to run anything super computer tasking besides openoffice and DVD's.

She also doesn't want one to be too big, or cost too much.

I think that the Lenovo ThinkPad R Series R61i would be a good choice for her. I could upgrade the RAM pretty easily. All I am really worried about is durability. Anyone know if this will hold up for 4 years?


Or, any other recommendations? I am open to any really.

Ask your sister if she doesnt mind lug heavy 15 inches notebook around classes? If so then go with Lenovo I have heard so many many great story about this even Corkyg said it dropped 3 feet and it still runs....

I should have bought Lenovo last year but I did not find that price range but I am happy with my HP/Compaq notebook I choose this one with two reasons good price and nice great looking notebook polished imprint finish design.
