Trying to find an online multiplayer game

Earlier this year I was playing this old online game and I just can't remember what it is called.

It's an old 2d game. People run their own servers to host maps. You shoot lasers, throw mines, and try to get to the other team's flag and bring it back to base. There can be other objectives too like flipping switches and such. A lot of times you get cheaters with really slow connections that can dodge just about everything you throw at them. There are up to 4 teams on a map - yellow, red, blue, green.

The name of this is some four letter word I think. Help.

Sounds similar to cyberstrike, but that's REAL old and last I checked there weren't any player-run servers.

Won.net and Sierra stopped supporting it.

But you can still play!

there used to be over 250 people playing but now it since has died down now since it shutdown for about 2 years due to some asshole hacker ruining the game..but then it came back online.

Why is it so hard to track down these games? I was searching and the only results I was getting was Halo, Half-Life, Battlefield, etc. There are so many online games out there just wasting away.

just download and register its only like a 5 meg file and registration is so ez its like login + password + email.

They dont even use your email at all.
