I got an internship at MIT with 5 other guys, and we're starting ASAP. Can you beleive a 3 bedroom furnished appt is minimum 5000 US$/month?!?!?!? WHAT THE HECK!??!!
If I want a minuscule studio, it's 1000 US$/month!!!!!!!!!!

This is just insane...anyone with brilliant ideas to save my banking account??
Thanks!

Nick63: That depends on what you want to see.. If you want a guided tour, take a Boston Duck Tour. Goes on land and water. :)

bleh, take a duck tour and suffer the mocking from all the real bostonians. quack quack.

to don: i lived in a furnished studio for $1700/mo for the last 2 years. it's real hell to live in boston, good luck. have you been looking outside of the immediate boston area? allston, brighton, etc? you can usually find a pretty decent deal.

...west cambridge is rather cheap, from what i understand. doubt you'll find a furnished place, though...

how long are you staying? if it's at least a year, you can get a better deal...

The Mass Transit system is pretty good (time and clean).

Get outside of Boston/Cambridge itself away from the colleges.
$5K is someone trying to rip off students. Paying for the convience and pary atmosphere.

Good students can study on campus or at the apartment, decide between having an expensive active or an affordable relaxed social life.

Spend some time checking out the papers Boston Globe
