Hello everyone....
I have a file that whenever I try to delete it, it tells me that is being used by another process. I have looked this error message up and I have come across tools that supposedly help you unlock the process and then you can delete the file. However, I've tried two tools, and followed other steps given on other forums, and nothing happens. I even tried the ms dos command line, and I get the same message---"another process is using this file".
I also tried booting into safe mode, and I still got the same message.
So now im thinking of trying to get one of those startup disks and maybe boot from there, and then try to delete the file that way....however, I got a vista laptop and I got all my disks that came with it stored back in florida, and well, not planning to take a 7 hour flight to get those disks....
When I had XP, I know i had a disk that would boot up into ms dos and from there I did my partitions, etc, but I've forgotten a lot of that, and now just wondering if i can do the same in vista without messing anything up....
by the way, the file I cannot delete is an *.nrg file that I created from a dvd so I have no idea what other process could be using the file....
sorry for the long post...
thanks in advance!
