Hey guys, I'm about to buy a new guitar. My last three guitars have been humbucking, far away from Stratocaster style. However, I've been eyeing a G&L Tribute Legacy. I know how good G&Ls regular line is, and people seem to like the Tribute series. I'm a bit skeptical. The guitar I'm just about set on is the Hagstrom Super Swede, which is two humbuckers with a coil tap. Has anyone here owned a Tribute Legacy and would like to share his experience with it? Include what amp, pedals, etc. If anyone has had a NEW Super Swede (not the Alvdalen made ones), please give me your insight as well. Thanks!

Friend of mine bought a ASAT classic a while back and was generally very happy with tone, build quality etc... not sure if this helps though. He had about 5 Les Paul variants at the time and wanted something with a sweeter/bluesier tone for some country-ish stuff.

I don't have the funds for a Carvin. I've been on Harmony Central before but none are specific enough for what I need to know. I REALLY want to know the versatility of the guitar. I play EVERYTHING.

You mean the SE series, NightDarker? I can't drop money on a full blown PRS, no way. I can't even afford a Carvin.

I HATE the necks and frets on low end G&L models. I actually cut my finger on the edge of a new G&L Tribute a few years back. I hope they've gotten better.

Pickups sound a bit muddy on them too. Have you actually played one first? The right amp might bring out the sound, but I'm not a fan.

Yeah; that was my biggest worry. I have heard some things about the build quality on them but wasn't sure if they were unfounded.
I'm going to go with the Hagstrom, I've heard nothing but good things about it other than the occasional intonation that needs to be fixed (easy fix there).
