1. Running/Athletic Shoe
2. Sandals: Text
3. Casual shoe that looks nice: Text
4. Dress Shoe: Text

I'm trying to decide what to bring to China this summer. I know that I'm going to be attending a couple formal dinners, and I also don't wanna pack too much.

I was thinking sandals + casual shoe, both of which I don't currently have :(

I have the dress shoe and the running shoe already.

Yeah, that's about right. But I live in the mountains, so I have some work/hiking boots instead of sandals.

Edit: Why buy 'em here? H3ll, they're prolly made in China anyway. Just buy them over there.

bring shoes that you don't mind getting dirty because....boy it can get really dirty there. Watch where you step too!

bring the dress and athletic shoes.

you can buy a pair of sandals for cheap in china, and you will be fine without the casual shoes.

Ooooo... I didn't think of that. Would wearing sandals be unsanitary?

Yes, especially if you travel to the markets, or have to use the public restrooms.

The post reminds me this one instance in China. I went there in 2001 with my friends. One day, it started to rain, no, more like a pour. One of the hardest rain pours I have seen in my life.

A few hours later, the streets started to flood, not to mention sewer over flowing. We were like "F@ck! Let's get the hell out of this area!" We caught a cab, but we noticed water was leaking in. Soon, water came up up to our knees in the cab. We started to think about sewer and all the human waste floating around.

Good times...

you know I thought I would get some great deals on shoes in China since they're all made there....not really. At least not in the retail stores, maybe some side markets but I wasn't skilled enough to find those.
